Carving a pineapple
This year our 6th-graders got the chance to carve their own scary pineapples for the school’s Halloween party. Of course, everything was done (more or less…) in English, and here’s how it works:
1) Find a nice pineapple: not too ripe, not too small. And smile, of course!
2) Cut off the lid and take out the pulp – if you work together, it’s much easier!
3) Pour the juice into a glass – and don’t forget to drink it!
4) Take a pointy, sharp knife and plan where you want to cut out the eyes and the mouth.
5) Focus on the job at hand: don’t cut out too much or it won’t hold the weight of the lid!
6) Finally, take out the stem in the middle and put a candle into the pineapple – tadaaa!
